CCSO Honor Guard goes to Washington Fundraiser
My Custom Cart/JC Outdoors is helping to do a Clay County Sheriff Office Honor Guard goes to Washington fundraiser to help raise money so the whole honor guard will be able to go to the National Police Week in Washington in May to watch Ben Zirbel’s name be added to the memorial wall. Normally only 6 of the Honor Guard go to Washington. With this past year’s event of losing one of their brother's and the fact that Ben was a member of the Honor Guard, the whole Honor Guard is wanting to go to the memorial. The lodging alone for the group is from $7- $10,000 and that is discounted. We are looking for local businesses to support as well as individuals. The FOP is collecting the money the money for us to be distributed to the Honor Guard and so it is tax deductible. The more we raise, the more that will go to the FOP foundation to help get the group up to Washington but that is not the end. From there donations will go to the foundation where the FOP will be able to help with fallen Clay County officers or officers that may be sick. My Custom Cart is building a golf cart to help with the fundraiser to take to some events to act as a collection vehicle for the Honor Guard. Once we finish with this fundraiser the cart will be given to the FOP for future fundraising events.
We are currently putting together some events. The first will be April 23rd at V’s Pizza in Fleming Island from 5-10 then May 1st at Chick-Fil-A from 4-8, and May 2nd at Dalton’s in Middleburg 5-9 where a portion of the proceeds will be given to the Honor Guard. We are setting up PayPal links and where drop offs donations can be done at Wells Fargo. The National Police Week is just a month away so we are needing help fast to reach our goal. This is for the men and women that help serve and protect our beautiful Clay County.
Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. For more information on our cause feel free to contact Cheryl Buffington at 904-545-6877.
Your donations are tax deductible because the FOP Clay County chapter is a 501c.
